Rolling Grille Repair and Installation in Shenandoah
A rolling grille that sticks halfway, drags in its guides or won't lock leaves your storefront or cage area exposed. We repair and install rolling grilles for retail stores, warehouses and distribution centers, and we set the visit around your opening and closing times so the work fits your day.

Security You Can See Through, Working the Way It Should
Rolling grilles do a different job than a solid overhead door. They secure an opening but still let air move and let people see through it. That makes them a common fit for retail fronts, pharmacy and service counters, parts cages, and interior openings between a warehouse floor and a secure storage area. When one fails, the problem is usually simple to name: the curtain won't travel, the lock won't catch, or the grille won't come down at all at closing time.
We handle repairs on existing grilles and full replacements or new installs. Before anyone shows up, we tell you what we think the visit involves, how long it should take and when to expect us. If parts need to be ordered or the job runs longer than planned, you hear it from us right away, so you can arrange staff, deliveries or after-hours coverage instead of finding out at the end of the day.
What Our Rolling Grille Work Covers
Curtain and link repair
We straighten or replace bent rods, links and pickets, whether your curtain is a straight or brick pattern in aluminum or steel. Damaged sections can often be swapped without replacing the whole curtain.
Guides and bottom bar
Forklifts and pallet jacks knock guides out of line more than anything else. We realign or replace guides, fix bottom bars and reset the curtain so it rides cleanly in its track.
Springs and coil assembly
We adjust tension or replace worn torsion springs and check the barrel, bearings and brackets so the grille lifts with the right effort and stays put when open.
Locks and operators
We repair slide bolts, cylinder locks and center locks, and service motor operators, limit settings and controls on powered grilles.
New grilles and replacements
When a grille is beyond repair or you need one for a new opening, we measure, help you pick the curtain style and operation, and install it. Our loading dock equipment sales page covers the buying side in more detail.

Signs Your Rolling Grille Needs Attention
- It binds or jerks partway
- A curtain that catches at the same spot usually points to a bent link or a guide pushed out of line. Forcing it tends to bend more of the curtain.
- It feels heavy or won't stay open
- Springs lose tension over time. A grille that drifts down or takes two people to lift needs a spring check before it drops on someone.
- Grinding, scraping or rattling
- New noise often means dry or worn bearings, a rubbing bottom bar or loose hardware on the coil.
- The lock won't line up
- If the bolt misses its hole or you have to lean on the curtain to lock it, the grille has shifted. That is a security gap every night until it is fixed.
- Rust along the guides and bottom
- Winter road salt tracked in by trucks and foot traffic works into the lower guides and bottom bar. Catching corrosion early keeps it a cleanup job instead of a parts job.
What to Expect on a Grille Visit
- 1
Planning by phone
Let us know where the grille is, what it is doing and which hours you need to protect. We set an arrival window we can keep and estimate roughly how long we will be there.
- 2
A full check on site
We cycle the grille all the way up and down, look over the springs, guides, curtain, locks and any operator, then tell you plainly what is wrong, with photos you can share if that is useful.
- 3
Fixed now or a set plan
Plenty of grilles are repaired the same visit. When parts have to come in, you get a written estimate, the expected parts date and a return date, plus a call if that date changes.
- 4
Careful work, tidy wrap-up
We are an OSHA 30 certified crew and block off the opening whenever springs or the curtain are being handled. Before leaving, we test the grille, lock it together with you and haul off old parts and debris.
What Shapes the Cost of Rolling Grille Work
Grille jobs range from a quick adjustment to a full replacement, so we price each one after we see it. You get a written estimate before work starts, and if we find something new once a grille is opened up, we stop and talk with you first.
- Size and curtain material
- Wider and taller openings carry heavier curtains and larger springs. Steel and aluminum curtains also differ in parts cost and labor.
- Manual or motorized
- Push-up and crank grilles are simpler to service. Powered grilles add motors, controls and limit settings to check and repair.
- Extent of the damage
- A single bent section costs far less than a curtain torn out of its guides or a failed spring assembly that has damaged the coil.
- Access and timing
- Mounting height, ceiling clearance and whether the work has to happen before opening or after closing all affect the labor involved.
Rolling Grille Questions
- Can you work on our grille before we open or after we close?
- Yes, we try to schedule grille work for the hours when the opening matters least to you. Tell us your opening and closing times when you call and we will set the arrival window around them. If we can't make an early or late slot, we say so up front.
- Will we be able to lock up the same day?
- In most cases, yes. If a grille can't be fully repaired on the first visit, we aim to leave it closed and locked or otherwise secured, and we tell you exactly what to expect until the return visit.
- Is it worth repairing an old grille or should we replace it?
- Plenty of older grilles have years left once bent sections, springs or guides are replaced. If the coil is damaged, parts are no longer made or repairs would cost close to a new grille, we tell you plainly and let you decide.
- Do you warranty grille repairs?
- Yes. Repairs and new installs on rolling grilles both carry a 1-year labor warranty. Should a part we serviced start giving you trouble within that year, let us know by phone and we will book a return visit to check our work.
- Can you service our other dock and door equipment on the same trip?
- Yes. Many facilities pair grille work with overhead doors, high speed doors or a dock leveler check. Ask about loading dock preventative maintenance if you would like everything looked at on a regular schedule.
